Out with the old and in with the new

Or is it out with the newer and in with the older?  Apparently the sun and phone camera quality made the newer older car look orange, and you can’t really tell how scratched up and faded the paint is on the older newer car.  Why the old/new confusion?  The car on the right that is lacking an engine is a ‘95, while the “newer” car more recently acquired is an older ‘94 model.
